Welcome to Clear Mind Counseling Services, a telehealth counseling clinic
Welcome to Clear Mind Counseling Services! My name is Ayleen and I’m a licensed counselor in Missouri, Arkansas, and Florida. If you’re here visiting this page, it’s more than likely that you’ve got something on your mind that’s been bothering you. More specifically, you could be entering (or a long-time member of) the world of infertility.
Infertility is often such an unexpected (and unwelcome) surprise. Suddenly, you’re thrown into a new experience that you very likely never thought you would have. You’re feeling alone, confused, scared. Maybe you’re just getting started exploring treatment options and are feeling anxious or scared of what’s to come and what this will all look and feel like. Or maybe you’ve been on this journey for several years and instead of success, you’ve been met with loss, grief, or frustration over failed treatments. Navigating infertility and all that comes with it can cause us stress in ways we couldn’t possibly have even considered before. And yet, here we are. As a fellow IVF-er myself, I understand the unique challenges faced by people undergoing infertility care.
Infertility has been shown to be as stressful an experience as any other significant, life-altering event, which makes sense. Not only are you having to learn about seemingly complicated treatment options and tests, but you’re having to wrap your head around taking medications, coping with potential side effects, and scheduling frequent doctors appointments around your schedule. Building a family doesn’t look any one specific way – families come in all different shapes and sizes and so, too, will the making of that family. From heterosexual couples, LGBTQIA couples, to a single person looking to grow their family, it can be helpful to have someone support you and validate the challenges you might be facing.
Or maybe you’re struggling with something else that’s been bothering you. Maybe you’ve found yourself feeling down, are having trouble sleeping, and you feel like every day is a fight. Perhaps you’ve been feeling nervous, maybe even for no clear reason, and it’s making it hard to focus or function well. It could even be that those scary moments from your past seem to be getting bigger and bigger, making it really hard to keep running away from. And sometimes, life just feels hard. Things happen and changes take place that can make life feel all the more challenging. We begin to have trouble with work, school, our relationships and generally don’t feel like our usual selves. If this sounds like something you’re experiencing, you’re in the right place. Because the good news is that therapy can (and does!) help, as long as you’re willing to do the work.
The beauty of therapy is that together, we can create a space that feels supportive, non-judgmental, warm, and caring. Creating this kind of environment helps a vulnerable moment feel that much less scary. And as an added bonus, using telehealth sessions means that this space can literally be where feel you feel most physically comfortable. Depression, anxiety, mood disorders, psychosis, trauma - these are all treatable issues and there is hope to be found.
